As a technical agency, the company offers complex web solutions to solve business problems for numerous clients UK wide. Some of their clients include Warner Leisure Hotels, Butlins, Times Educational Supplement, RSPB, Vodafone, local councils and multinational corporate companies. With the success of these completed projects the company is set to continue these working relationships with the addition of new clients as well. The company approaches each client need individually to ensure each client need is specifically handled for their requirements. This is done through thoroughly understanding the client’s business need and direction and working closely with them on the specification of the projects in the initial stages to ensure the project delivers to the exact client need. The company works with numerous technology partners including SDL Tridion, Umbraco and Microsoft. All the development is done using Microsoft .Net.

The company is currently looking to expand the existing Project Management team due to continued growth and expansion. The Project Manager position is currently available in the Manchester office, and this role will require occasional travel to client sites mostly in the UK but occasionally abroad. Any travel is covered in full by the company. It is essential that you have good organisational and communication skills, and have a proactive management approach and enthusiastic nature. You will be responsible for the management of the full project lifecycle, from analysis, through solution design, build, test and deployment and will manage project risks, issues and dependencies to ensure delivery on time on budget and to high quality. It is therefore essential that you have a thorough grasp on all aspects of the project lifecycle in order to be able to carry out each specified area of this project management role.

Required Skills and Experience Formal project management qualifications and university degree are preferable but not essential if relevant industry experience can be demonstrated. You must have 2 - 3 years experience delivering IT projects based on Prince 2 methodology. Experience or an appreciation of current Content Management technologies would be advantageous.

Excellent organisational skills and experience of planning projects using Microsoft Project

Highly motivated and motivating individual with leadership skills

Strong stakeholder management (at senior level)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Scope and change management experience

Ability to recognise and manage project risks, issues and dependencies through to resolution

Experience of delivering technical web based solutions to required time, budget and quality

Weekly reporting on project progress against schedule and budget

Above all a proactive and enthusiastic nature is essential

An ideal background for this position would be someone who has been a developer previously (.Net or PHP) and has recently moved into a more project management focused role, whether that is in an official capacity or unofficially.
