A family run, independent company in Huddersfield are looking for an additional member for their development team. The company are a stable organisation working in the educational sector. They are a small but efficient team of 20 people with a compact development team of 3.
This position is for a senior developer to join the team to take charge of the development projects for the company. The role is for a Lead C#.Net developer. You need to have 5 years or more experience in .Net development working predominantly on Winforms applications, although web experience would be an advantage as this is a future plan for the company and whoever joins also. The company have a core software product which is the main focus for this role initially but they have a number of new developments ready for when this developer starts. You need to be able to demonstrate experience in technical design and architecture of applications along with development, testing and support of applications.
The company are using the latest technologies and methodologies, using .Net 3.0 and 3.5 with the view to introducing 4.0 shortly. Experience of .Net 3.0 and 3.5 would be beneficial, although the desire to progress into newer technologies will be considered. You will need experience with SQL Server 2005 and 2008, XML, Multi-threaded programming, NUNIT, NANT and Configuration Management.
The company are looking for a developer who is as equally able technically as they are verbally. This role will see a lot of contact with the end user and the need to communicate to both technical and non-technical people is essential. You will be involved in the full development life cycle and very much a vital part of the company.

The company are very concerned with looking after their employees – this role is offering a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 which will be reviewed after the first 6 months. Reviews pending this will be annually. The company offer 25 days holiday plus the Christmas holiday period which is on top of this. Working hours are 9am to 5.30pm.
