Apple Rejects Samsungs Offer
04/10/2011
Apple has told a federal court in Sydney that they have rejected Samsung’s settlement offer and that they want the court to make a ruling over the two companies’ dispute over patent infringement within Samsungs Galaxy tablet devices.
Apples attorney Steven Burley told the court, ‘it is one we don’t accept and there is no surprise. The main reason we are here is to prevent the launch and maintain the status quo.’
Last week it was reported that Samsung had offered a settlement deal to Apple in a bid to end their Australian suit.
Samsung had hoped that with this settlement they could begin to trade their highly anticipated device in the Australian market in time for Christmas.
Also the high tensions between the two tech giants had seemed to ease over the past few weeks when Samsung agreed to send Apple 3 samples of their Galaxy Tablet device so it could be reviewed.
No comments had been made by either parties and no details of the settlement had been released.
