Razorfish For The Chop

Razorfish, the Microsoft owned digital agency, is to be sold. The agency, which was brought by Microsoft in 2007 when it took over aQuantive, is said to be on sale for an estimated £420m, according to the Financial Times. The sale is being handled by Morgan Stanley.
Razorfish, previously known as Avenue A/Razorfish, is based in Seattle with global offices; it employs 2,000 members of staff and has clients including Kraft, Coca-Cola, Disney and Audi. It is said that interested agencies to buy Razorfish consist of Omnicom and WPP Group however Publicis Groupe is said to be the most popular choice.
Publicis Groupe’s popularity to acquire Razorfish comes after the Publicis Groupe chief executive, Maurice Levy, stated, only last month, that the company had freed up some funds in order to allow them to make acquisitions particularly in the digital forum.
