Google Fights Back At Bing
22/06/2009
Google has made its first direct competitive move to compete with Bing. Google has announced a test for a new product which will allow advertisers to display specific products and prices.
This is going to be a product available to a select few US users as a test product for Google to potentially offer on a wider scale.
This is directly competing with Bing’s model which allows advertisers to show more product and pricing information in their adverts when compared to Google’s standard searches. Bing’s model, since being released, has shown that users spend more time looking at adverts on Bing in comparison to time spent by people on Google.
Google’s version will see advertisers pay only when a user makes a purchase and will then pay Google a commission of a value which the advertiser is happy with.
