WPP’s Mindshare To Win £100m Zurich Account
20/05/2009
After a two way pitch for the £100m global media account for the financial services group, Zurich, WPP’s Mindshare looks set to win the account after beating Aegis Media.
The win of the media account comes as a result of Zurich’s global review of its media planning and buying requirements which commenced in January.
The review has been controlled from Switzerland with a strong part played by Zurich’s six key international markets – the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the US.
Although no one of authority at Zurich was available to comment and Nick Emery, Chief Strategy Officer of GroupM who led the pitch, refused to comment also, it has been said that the details for the contract will be finalised at the end of this week.
The account was previously held by ZenithOptimedia, who have handled the account since 2004, when Zurich combined its media and advertising accounts into the Zed and Publicis agencies, part of the Publicis Groupe. Publicis still remains in charge of the Creative work for Zurich.
