Job title: SEO Specialist Reporting to: Search Manager and Head of Search Role and mission: My Client specialises in digital performance marketing across paid and natural search, social, affiliates, display, ad-exchanges, mobile and website optimisation. We place data at the heart of our business to fuse the performance of all digital media channels to deliver tangible business results for our clients. We also link our trading and commercial model to the results to offer market leading value to our clients. The role will undertake all technical aspects of a search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign to maximise search engine visibility for a wide portfolio of blue-chip clients. While this is primarily a technical role requiring a high level of technical ability, such as understanding content management systems and web build experience, you will be an integral part of a professional marketing team; communicating bespoke SEO strategies and solutions to both internal departments and external clients.

There structure allows for an opportunity to take on a great deal of responsibility from the outset. The successful candidate will be able to take the initiative and be a confident communicator. A genuine interest in internet based marketing evaluation is also preferable. The role will also include a training and development programme. Key responsibilities: * Implementation of search engine algorithm tests and research * Collate requirements for the development of proprietary search technology and implement these through our inhouse technical development team * Advise clients on search engine optimisation strategies for CMS systems, information architecture, web design and usability * At times, support the team to develop leading SEO strategy alongside Search Strategists utilising the junior SEO executives/link builders that clearly articulates success. * Support the SEO and social media team to build simple applications such as widgets and apps * Building SEO friendly websites according to the highest W3C standard for clients and internal usage. * Department lead on the development smart web/site industry applications and industry technology. * Working closely and advising clients on usability, information architecture, taxonomy and dynamic web development * Working closely with other digital teams to leverage other consumer developments and to maintain a close link between all digital media marketing channels. * Provide technical consultancy to clients on all aspects of SEO including: o Keyword and content research using a suite of tools o Comprehensively research and analyse competitor sites and search results pages o Produce and implement back link strategies with third party web site owners o Internal link optimisation o SEO technical analysis and evaluation o Interrogating the website analytics, demonstrating value for money/ROI o Identify issues surrounding user experience, accessibility, and information architecture. o HTML and CMS optimisation Desirable qualifications, knowledge, experience, and skills: * 3-5 years proven online marketing experience (Ad/Creative agency or client-side) * A degree in computing, marketing, media, communications, or related subject * Thorough knowledge of search algorithms and ranking factors * Appreciation of Content management Systems (CMS) and dynamic URLs * Web administration & server maintenance * Advanced Excel (to exploit extensive amount of data - e.g. VLookUp, Pivot tables) * Conversion Rate Optimisation, Split & Multivariate testing * Google Adwords Qualified * Back-end programming languages, such as PHP and ASP Essential qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills: * 1-2 years proven web development / online marketing experience * Confident in website build (able to hand-code HTML & CSS, javascript and PHP) * Experience in both on and off-site search engine optimisation * Appreciation of Content management Systems (CMS) and dynamic URLs * A good understanding of website usability and information architecture. Avid user of web Analytics and Webmaster Tools * Proficient in Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
